John Pirtle is Manager of the Operations Technology Control Center for Georgia System Operation Corp. The OTCC is composed of two 24x7 groups supporting Network Operations and Physical Security Operations. These groups provide first tier response to alerts, field technical assistance, and customer communications. The system infrastructure is distributed across the state of Georgia, including over 4000 miles of dark fiber and 10,000 monitored nodes, and covering a range of services from basic electrical substation connectivity to middle mile fiber services for multiple broadband Internet Service Providers.
Previous to GSOC, John held IT Network roles in engineering and operations primarily in the financial sector.
